We began breeding these wonderful beasts in the 1970's.
Over the years we certainly have learned alot about Shepherds !
Our dogs are part of our family and a tremendous part of our lives. They take turns staying
in the house with us, going on car rides and walks.
We have always strived to continue learning about these fabulous, intellegent animals so that
we can continue to produce some of the best! Our main concern, of course, is to breed the healthiest dogs we can, and
are very selective about who is bred to whom. Pedigrees are studied carefully to find the correct match. We always are
careful to breed for outstanding temperaments, genetic soundness, health, longevity, intellegence for ease of training, as
well as for confirmation. Our dogs can and are used for many different purposes; from confirmation shows, K-9 units, SAR,
narcotic dogs and of course as just plain loveable, loyal, family members and protectors..
All breeding stock are throughly screened for the common genetic problems that can run in
some lines of shepherds. If there is ever any question, they are not bred but spayed or neutered and placed pet homes. All
breeding dogs must be OFA good or excellent or A stamp normal from Germany.
Our pups are raised in the house until at least six weeks. During that time they are handled
daily by several family members, friends, grandkids and other children. We think it is important for our pups to have been
around children, so they adjust well to their new families.They are loved dearly by us and they know it! They get lots of
special attention as long as they are with us, as soon as they have received adequate vaccinations, we start them on outings
of all types, to socialize them and let them see there are other people and things, as well as dogs in the world. We stress
that new owners continue to socialize their pups. We require that each new owner at least commit to a beginning obedience
class. This is so very important with these very active and intelligent animals.
We believe that nutrition is of the utmost importance in raising and maintaining health. We
